Along the slopes of the Argopuro Volcano in East Java, the rich volcanic soil and high elevations contributes to the growth of great arabica coffee here. Producer and co-op leader, Pak Muhlisin, founded the Pokmas Walida Cooperative in 2014, he gathered producers in the area and spread awareness on the new coffee processing methods and encourage improved coffee quality.
During the harvest season, producers will carefully handpick the cherries in their farms and transport to the collection station at Pokmas Walida wet mill. Coffee are placed to dry over natural sun drying over the period of 3 to 4 weeks. The cherries are regularly moved to prevent mold growth.
